Prime Deal Days 2026: 3 months of Kindle Unlimited for free – plus the best Kindle and Echo deals
As of October 5, 2026, 11 AM. The Prime Deal Days are on October 6 and 7. I have personally checked all prices on Amazon – they may change at any time.

Just in time for the Prime Deal Days, it’s back: Kindle Unlimited three months for free. I tried it out right away – with two Amazon accounts and two completely different results.
The Essentials at a Glance
My Experience: Business Account Yes, Personal Account No
We have been reading on Kindles for years – I on my Paperwhite, my wife on her Oasis. Kindle Unlimited is a regular guest in our household: I am a regular subscriber on my personal account and have often taken advantage of offers in the past, most recently in October 2025.
That’s probably the catch this time: The free offer was not displayed on my personal account. However, it worked with my business account: I accessed the promotional page, saw “3 months for €0,” activated it. Done.
My impression: Amazon pays close attention to who is a regular subscriber and who has taken advantage of which promotions. Those who, like me, are constantly engaged apparently do not belong to the target audience.
Note (time-sensitive): Amazon offers the deal based on your account. Whether you receive it can only be seen on the promotional page. It’s best to check right away; it doesn’t cost anything.

How to Get the 3 Free Months (if available)
- Log in to Amazon (Prime membership is required) and visit the Kindle Unlimited promotional page.
- Check what is displayed: If it says “3 months for 0 €”, you are in. If you see the regular price or a different offer, you are not eligible this time.
- Activate – and immediately set a calendar entry a few days before the end of the free period.
- Important: After that, the subscription will automatically continue for €11.75 per month unless you cancel.
Note: The summary directly before the conclusion is decisive. According to reports, some accounts only show two free months.
Who receives the offer – and who does not?
Amazon does not disclose the exact criteria. However, from my own experience and what others report, a fairly clear picture emerges:
Good Opportunities
Poor Chances
💡 Important for a second account
Kindle Unlimited is always tied to the account you sign up with. In order for the borrowed titles to appear on your Kindle, the Kindle (or the Kindle app) must be logged in with that exact account. Creating a separate business account for this purpose is not worth it, as it is intended for companies.
Kindle Unlimited in 60 Seconds
| Contents | Large selection of e-books, along with selected audiobooks and magazines. |
| Devices | All Kindle readers plus the Kindle app for iOS, Android, tablet, and PC. |
| Borrowing | Borrow multiple titles at once and swap them anytime. |
| Costs | After the free trial, €11.75 per month, cancellable monthly. |
| Who is it for? | For avid readers and anyone who wants to browse without having to buy each book individually. |

My recommendation: The Echo Show 8 for €134.99 – I already recommended it in the spring offers. As a kitchen radio, alarm clock, or smart home hub, it is the sweet spot in the lineup. If you’re just looking for a smart speaker, go for the Echo Dot for €29.99.
Attention to the percentage figures: The MSRP of Amazon devices is often set high. What matters is whether the price is truly low. You can see this in the price history, for example on Keepa or camelcamelcamel.
More Highlights
My Watchlist from Tuesday
Starting Tuesday at 12:01 AM, new offers will be added three times a day. I have my eye on devices that I have personally tested: the PlayStation Portal (currently €239) and my Gadget of the Year, the Govee TV Backlight 3 Lite (currently €89.99). As of now, neither is discounted. The AirPods Pro 3 are priced at €213.99 instead of €249, which isn’t a real steal yet.
My Tips for the Prime Deal Days
- Check Kindle Unlimited first: It costs nothing, and in the best case, you get three months of reading material for free.
- Set cancellation reminder: immediately after signing up, a few days before the end of the free trial period.
- Check price history: Keepa or camelcamelcamel show whether a deal is really a deal.
- Compare bundles: Readers with cases or power adapters are often cheaper in promotions than when purchased separately.
- No Prime? The deals are only available for Prime members. Amazon typically offers new customers a free trial month.
Conclusion

My Conclusion
If Kindle Unlimited is free, it’s a no-brainer for me. The fact that it only worked this time with the business account shows that those who are regular subscribers and take advantage of many promotions will eventually be filtered out. Still, give it a try – it costs nothing. And for those looking for a new reader: Paperwhite and Colorsoft are currently priced just right.
